Newcastle isn’t the largest city in the UK but it has a vibrant and distinct arts culture of its own. With the young creatives and artisans setting up shop in the Ouseburn, a budding scene of aspiring musicians and a unique tattoo and street artist collective, there is abundance of creativity to be explored.
After almost a decade of living in Newcastle I’ve grown to love what the city has to offer and for some time have wanted to share some of its more intriguing features. What interests me is the array of young creatives gathering in certain areas.
My interest in creative people, in part stems from my inability to practise an artistic endeavour with any real dedication, I have therefore contented myself engaging with artistic practise via the documentation of others.
This blog is an extension of my own interest, a celebration of young creatives and an exploration of their expression.
Each week ill be posting content about different artists in the Newcastle area, exploring what inspires and drives them, what started them on their journey and why they have made Newcastle their home.
